Organisational Behaviour

Questions: Narrative 1.1 Briefing paper: For the first assessment, every member of our group did his own personal research for selecting the topic for the briefing paper. Although this task was individual, still we have included it in our project plan as a separate task in our Gantt chart. Appropriate number of days was allocated for choosing and completing the literature review on the selected topic. This task was completed by every member of our group on time. 1.2 Assessment 2 (Progress Review Presentation): For the progress presentation, we chose to give our presentation through Prezi. Prezi is an online tool that helps people prepare presentation inline and share it immediately with intended individuals. Although issue of security was a concern, however this tool allowed us to collaborate and work more effectively, hence security issue was ignored. Every member was able to add his own content for allocated part of the presentation into common file, while the other member could work on the same file at same time. The content to include in the presentation was very easy to presentation from the marking guide, hence deciding on what to include in the presentation was not challenging at all prepared for presentation by doing mock presentation couple of times. Every member was present for the every mock presentation. Finally on the day of progress presentation we were able to deliver the presentation flawlessly. 1.3 Assessment 3 (Group Report): For the group report, every member drew his own conclusion from the interview and the literature review. Every member of the group was given 8-10 days for identifying various issue form the briefing paper and interview. Finally appropriate number of days was given for writing the conclusion and analysis in the report. 1.4 Assessment 4 (Final Presentation): For the final presentation we decided that we will include every members topics with most significant issues surrounding them, and then drawing conclusion on those issues by comparing the facts that were found in literature review and the interview. We again chose to use Prezi instead of using Power Point for presentation. The skeleton structure of our final presentation was prepared by one of our group member on the online tool Prezi. Later on every member could work on his part of the presentation without any conflict, due to other member work on same file. After the presentation was fully completed we did 9-10 mock presentations before the final run in week 12th. On the final day we have planned to present flawlessly. 1.5 Assessment 5 (Project File): For the project file, we decided to allocate the required task to each member of our group. Every member was given the task which was believed to suitable for him. One of our group members didnt do Project Management unit in the last semester, so he was exempted from doing risk moment task, although he was given other task which did not require any exemplary level of project management skills. We used google drive for managing the assessment. Every member would finish his required task and drop it in the google drive on specified date. One person was assigned the task for integration of all tasks which was completed by different members to fulfil project file requirements. Answers: Narration Small brief Description With the development of every person in the group, there is a need to work on the research and select the topic which will include all the briefing. The individual have to plan and include all the task of the Gantt chart, thereby, properly allocating the days and choosing the completion of time of the task by each member. Review of the progress work (Assessment 2) The presentation is basically through Prezi which is one of the best online tool to help and present to the individual. This software is mainly concerned towards the security and the concern was to effectively elaborate and work towards the working of the file at the time when the other people are even working on it. The members will have mock presentation, and the presentation was performed perfectly and we met the challenge. The report presentation of the Group (Assessment 3) The report was best and the group members could complete brief what all was written in the same. With the days in hand, we were able to write the analysis and the conclusion of the report proficiently. Presentation of the Work (Assessment 4) The presentation included many issues but, the conclusion was able to resolve all the facts which were mainly surrounded by the literature and the interviews. As per the structure, the presentation was more focused on how the tool was prepared and how the work was done on it. The presentation was accomplished along with the 9-10 presentations of mock tests. The final presentation was appraised by the group people. The conclusion and the interview went well and we were happy as the efforts put into the work were a great success. File of the Project To outline the details, there was a presentation and then the file was submitted where certain task was allocated and we were to divide the task among the group. The members had to work depending upon the topics like Project Management and the skills were managed to use the best of them. The exemption to do task was to rise above all the requirements and manage the level of project management. The Google drive was used to mainly share all the important documents which were being assigned. They were automatically shared among the group members and the integration was in the form that the tasks were completed and the requirement of the project file were fulfilled too. Descriptions of some Professional Behaviour Substantive Contribution It is important to hold a good command over the issues and the affairs which mainly deal with the welfare for setting up a better organisation. To hold the membership, the directors need to follow the rules where the management structures need delegation as well as specialisation in their work. (Shuman et al., 2005). Professional Code of Conduct Their Limitation According to the professional conduct, the activities should be done which are relevant and in the interest of public and leading to a management of the profession too. (Arnold Boggs, 2015). The practice leads to carry out the temptations where the concerned approach is mainly to follow the significant differences and to follow the path. Be Punctual, responsible contribute to the work Abiding by the rules and regulations, the people should notify their other team (Arnold Boggs, 2015) members during the meeting for their non-availability or their incomplete work so that it does not degrade the impression of the company, as a whole. Commitment to work within deadlines and of better quality There needs an extension to stand for (Arnold Boggs, 2015) the people who need to put in efforts for better quality. The work can easily display your skills and it can quantify as to how and what can be the best way to promote through, leading to a better presentation. Support The feeling of competitiveness (Arnold Boggs, 2015) destroys the efforts which will certainly have a bitter impact. People should try to endorse the qualities, looking forward where they can try to improve the work quality and work efficiently for a better end. Reference: Arnold, E. C., Boggs, K. U. Answer: Introduction: Workplace diversity refers to the differences between the employees working in an organisation. It might sound simple but diversity covers race, ethnicity, age, ethnic group, education, cultural background, personality and many other things. It has been found that managing diversity in a workplace is one of the key issues that haunt human resource managers as there are always issues related to management of diversity. Differences in perceptions, thinking, behaviour, personalities, etc. make it very difficult to keep a diverse workforce together but an organisations success or competiveness can be dependent upon its ability to manage workplace diversity and realizing the benefits of it (Multiculturaladvantage.com, 2016). The present day companies are trying their best to recruit a diverse pool of talent as it helps them in adding competencies in their human resources. They have realized the benefits of having a diverse workforce and are trying their best to have a diverse workforce and manage it in the most appropriate way. The positive effects of diversity on a workplace are that diversity in the workplace helps in brining diverse talent from all around the world and the productivity increases when all of them get together and work for achieving common goals. People coming from diverse backgrounds and with diverse personalities have their own way of tacking the issues that are pertaining in the workplace (Patrick and Kumar, 2012). Therefore, diverse minds coming together foster a greater creativity in the workplace and can discover innovative ways to solve problems. Another major effect of diversity on the workplace is that it helps a workplace in gaining competitive edge in the market and makes it easier for the management to attract and retain talent. It also helps the workplace in increasing its business and capturing a greater market share because a diverse workforce is able to appeal to a greater customer base. The negative effects of workplace diversity are that diversity in the workplace means that there will be a lot many means of expression in the workplace. As employees originate from diverse backgrounds, they communicate in different ways and languages. Such a thing can cause confusion and frustration in the minds of the workforce (Smallbusiness.chron.com, 2016). Even though some people claim that workplace diversity can help in increasing the customer base and increasing the business of a company, some people have also experienced an increase in the initial operating costs as the workplace has to make heavy initial investments in order to accommodate diversity in the workplace. Some companies are not actually capable of managing diversity in the workplace. As a res ult, they end up implementing workplace diversity without any prepared strategy. Such companies can face a lot of legal problems as the employees start to discriminate amongst each other, which can have a lot of negative effects on the reputation of the workforce. A lot of diversity in the workplace can sometimes cause a lot of problems for the employees. Increased diversity can bring about a change in the relationships and nature of the workplace. Diversity changes in the workplace can cause stress amongst the employees as there are a number of cultures that exist in the workplace and the employees start to resist the culture of the other employees (Smallbusiness.chron.com, 2016). The role of managers has also become complicated since the concept of workplace diversity has become famous. The managers have to now manage a lot of diverse employees, which requires a lot of knowledge about cultures and communication styles. As we all know that people from diverse backgrounds have diver se cultures and communication styles, it becomes essential for the managers to have knowledge about them and establish coordination amongst all the employees (Darden, n.d.). Further, it has also become important for the managers to form teams comprising of diverse workforce and direct them towards achieving the organisational goals and objectives. It also falls upon the managers to handle the diversity carefully so that the chances of discrimination are reduced (Amaram, 2011). Workplace diversity has positive as well as negative impacts on the workplace but with proper management and strategies, diversity can help companies in achieving a lot of competencies and market opportunities.
